Functionality: Better Your Breakfast with Potatoes
Many varieties of high-quality fresh, frozen and dehydrated potato ingredients are available commercially to fill a variety of functional needs, including shreds, dices, slices, flakes, granules and flours.
One popular ingredient is dehydrated potato flakes which are offered in several grind sizes. These gluten-free potato flakes offer superior nutrition to alternative options and can be used very successfully as a breading or coating.
For instance, try using the dehydrated potato flakes to create delicious potato-crusted quiche bites. Start with a traditional quiche recipe. Cut into bite size squares then use a standard 3-Step Breading Procedure with potato flour (or finely crushed flakes), egg wash and potato flakes. Fry the squares until golden and enjoy a portable, unique breakfast solution crusted to perfection.
