Washington & Colorado Food Banks Win Big With Super Bowl Bet

In 2014 Colorado and Washington state food banks won big thanks to a bet the Washington State Potato Commission (WSPC) and Colorado Potato Administrative Committee (CPAC) placed on the big game. The bet: for every point scored, 500 pounds of potatoes would be donated to a food bank in the city of the winning team by the organization from the state of the losing team. Based on the final score, CPAC will donate 25,500 pounds of potatoes to a food bank in Seattle. However, the WSPC has decided to match the donation for a Denver food bank, so in this bet both cities came out victorious!  Read the rest here.
